Sometimes film shots can get lost in the digital world so I thought I'd give it a place of its own.

Are you doing something with IR that no one else, or very few people are doing?

IR photography is in itself an "out-of-the-box" endeavor, but are you going down blue highways and breaking a bit of ground in the process?

If you are ready to share, please do.

We would love to see what's happening out there on the edge of the edge.

Jerry Kneupper's IR blog. Includes featured IRtists and various articles. Perhaps the best Beginners IR Photography step by step article available.
Irbuzz Blogspot
Marco Annaratone's and Claudio Ruscello lengthy, well documented, technical "gentle introduction" to IR photography. This and Jerry's links are must reads to both newbie and old hand alike IMO.
Resonant Link Photography
Member David Twede has built the first website that addresses FULL SPECTRUM IR photography among other issues of great importance to IR shooters. (a must read).
Full Spectrum/IR Photography
Photo Notes.org site addressing the issues with IR film cameras, basically EOS based.

.....CAMERA CONVERSION SERVICES..... Listed below are companies that either provide conversions from standard digital cameras to dedicated IR and multi-use, IR+visible light usage, OR have pre-converted cameras already in stock, OR have/do both. Members here have used them and for the most part (98%+) give them good reviews.

INFRARED FILTER SOURCES. There are many and the prices tend to vary a bit so shop around. Here are a few.

Camera Filters
Photo Filters
This is my personal pick for filters. They are the least expensive and IMO, the highest quality. It's an eBay store. I have purchased four filters from this seller and won't buy anywhere else.
y-2k Infrared
Australian member Wayne J. Cosshalls very depthy website that addresses many issues about photography in general with a very strong Infraredian accent.
The Digital Imagemaker
The dreaded Hot Spot! Recently I tested 8 lenses on my 30D for the Hot Spot and none of them showed a hint of one. These are older manual focus FSU and some Japanese manual focus Takumar lenses. To learn about these jewels and how to adapt them to various bodies check this excellent forum
Manual Lens Index
Why are many digital cameras called crop cameras? How is it that certain cameras, when stopped down past F16, make fuzzier images? Does sensor size really matter? Suggested by member Michael, this and several other issues of importance are addressed in this interactive article that is a should nudging must read for all users of digital cameras. Highly recommended
Size Really Matters
Heres a world class website that covers a ton of info on photography, lenses, digital backs, bodies and did I mention, Infrared photography? Its member diglloyds depthy work. Another must read. A beautifully presented wealth of knowledge for old hand and newbie alike. MOST Highly recommended.
Digilloyds site
Mike Brooks offers authoritative courses in IR photography forensics along with being a Fuji IS-Pro dealer. He has a dedicated community for these interests and I strongly recommend checking this resource out for questions about infrared (and UV) photography related to forensics. (IR CIS!)
